There are so many things you can do to help build the right office environment, here are some top tips:

  • Think Practical

First things first, when it comes to office design thinking about aesthetics is super important. One thing that is more important however, is how practical your office space is. This means thinking about things like where plug sockets are going to be, how many people can fit comfortably on each pod, where the toilets are in relation to the main office space. When it comes to the electrics, head to the Electrical Guys for all your sockets and lighting needs before you start on the other design aspects.

  • Encourage Creativity

A really popular trend in new office spaces is creating trendy breakout areas and chill spaces where employees can escape from work for a while whilst on a break. These are proven to help encourage creativity and can really help to encourage employee communication and improve relationships. Providing leisure activities like game machines and pool tables are also popular and improve employee’s satisfaction levels.

  • Think about Lighting

With most office workers spending around 8 hours per day staring at a screen lighting is a huge factor when it comes to office design. Try and include as much natural lighting at possible to help ease the impact on the eyes. Remember to think about the winter months of the year when it gets darker much earlier and you might need to rely on artificial lighting.

  • Invest in Furniture

There’s so much evidence that sitting at a desk all day is damaging for our bodies that investing in ergonomic furniture is a great way to show your employees you care. Buying chairs which support the back and encourage employees to sit properly and not slouch can be really beneficial for their health. Other things like standing desks and on site gym equipment also shows you care about their health and want to look after employees whilst at work.

By following all these tips you’ll be able to create a great office environment which employees enjoy, respect and feel motivated to produce great results in, helping to boost your business.
